Who are you?

I am a Texan in exile turned Brooklynite, writer (of poetry), and occasional singer. My poems often develop out of sound patterns in language and explore multiplicities of meaning. Well, it’s nice to think so. In actuality I just write things and hope that they work. Mostly they don’t, sometimes they do.

What does Shining Darkly refer to?

It was partly inspired by these lyrics from an Anais Mitchell song: “I want to see you half-lit in the half-light / Laughing with the whites of your dark eyes / Shining darkly.”
